1903, between
Royar and Levering,of the first part •and the City of Redlandsi
of the second part,=itnesseth:--
Said first parties agree to furnish and supplg said
city witatrude oil,in car load lots,for street work,f.o.b.
Redlands,in quantitg.x not less than 3000 barrels and not
exceeding 12000 barrels,carrying net less than 35 % of asphal—
tum and not over 13 jo gravity,with entire absence of water,
at the price of one dollar and three cents ($1.03) per each
barrel of forty --two gallons, delivered at Redlands at such
place on either the Santa Fe or ;.P.rarlroad track as may be
required by second party.
Said oil shall be delivered in car load lots at such
time during the year 1903 as may be required by said second.
party. Second party shall have the right to test said
oil when delivered or offered for delivery as to the per cent
of asphalturn,gravity and amount of water,if any,in said, oil,
and to see that it otherwise complies with the specifications
for such oil on file in the office of the city clerk of said
city dated as filed in his office of Feby.6th,1903,and if
from such test or tests it shall be found that said oil or
any of it so delivered from time to time,does ::lot cora up
to the tests required or any of the conditions of said spec—
ifieations,then a reasonable deduction shall be made from the
price of such car or cars of oil so furnished and not corning
up to such requirements. Said first parties shall
deliver said oil to said city with freight charge,; ifu.. y p u.
Said city agrees to pay said sum of 41.03 per barrel
as aforesaid at each regular meeting of said board after the
delivery of any oil as aforesaid.,provided that a bill for sucI
oil shall be filed with said clerk prior to such meeting,arc.
