Attention Street Superintendent.
Your proposal of recent date to do the necessary grading and
paving on Olive Avenue, between Cajon Street and Railroad Avenue, in the
City of Redlanc'e, at the rate of five and one-half (5i) cents per equare _
foot, is hereby accepted subject to the following conditions:
You hereby agree to furnish the riaterials, equipment and labor
to place the 9 foot strip formerly occupied by our tracks at the grade of
the balance of the street; and to furnish and apply oil and rock screenings and
do the necessary rolling, completing the job in a thorough and workmanlike man-
ner to the full satisfaction of the street superintendent of the City of
Redlands and the Chief Engineer of the Pacific Electric Railway Company, or
his representative.
You hereby guarantee to hold Pacific Electric Railway Company free and
harmless from any and all liability and loss and damage on account of personal
injuries to or death of yourself, employees and equipment, and for personal
injuries or death of any person or persons whatsoever, and damages to property
of others arising out of or resulting from said work.
If this meets with your approval will you please so indicate in the
space provided Below, returning all copies to see for signature and further
handling.

And whereas, said
as such Contractor, is about to enter into said contract with
as Superintendent of Streets of said City of Redlands, for the performance of said work pursuant to said
award, and
WHEREAS. The law requires every contractor, person, company or corporation, including contract-
ing owners, to whom is awarded any contract for street work under said act, before executing the said con-
tract for street work, to file with the Superintendent of Streets, a good and sufficient bond, approved by
the TJresident of the Board of Trustees of. the City of Redlands, in the sum of not less than one-half of the
tptal amount payable by the terms of said contract, and which shall inure to the benefit of any and all
persons, companies, or corporations who perform labor or furnish materials to be used m said work or im-
provement

labor on, or furnish materials to be used in said work or improvement as aforesaid, in the sum of

be made. we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns, jointly and sev-
erally, by these presents.

The conditions of the above obligation are such that if the said
the said contractor, to whom the said contract has been
awarded as aforesaid, shall fail to pay for any materials so furnished for the said work or improvement
above mentioned, or for any work or labor done thereon, of any kind, the said sureties will pay the same in
an amount not exceeding the said sum hereinbefore specified
