INDENTURE, Made this Z57" day of

ATCHISON, TOPEKA AND SANTA FE RAIL-
WAY CO'ANY, a Kansas corporation,
hereinafter called the Railway Com-
pany, and the CITY OF REDLANDS, a.
California Municipal corporation,
hereinafter called the City,WITNESSETH:
IN CONSIDERATION of the sum of One Dollar, lawful money
of the United States of America, to it paid, and of other good
and valuable considerations, the Railway Company does hereby
give unto the City an easement for road purposes over and across
that certain portion of the Railway Company's right of way and
main track situated at the intersection of Colton and Wabash
Avenues, at Craf Station, in the City of Redlands, County of
San Bernardino, State of California, more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
Beginning at a point in the northern line of Colton
Avenue distant 40.65 feet westerly thereon from the
northweztern corner of Colton and Wabash Avenues;thence
westerly 44.78 feet along said northern line of Colton
Avenue to a point where the northwestern right of way
line of said Railway Company intersects said northern
line of Colton Avenue; thence northeasterly 136.61 feet
along said northwestern right of way line, which is 50.0
feet northwesterly from and parallel to the center line
of said Railway Company's main track, to a point in the
western line of Wabash Avenue; thence southerly 55.97 feet
along said western line of Wabash Avenue to a point dis-
tant 50.81 feet northerly thereon from the said northwest-
ern corner of Colton and Wabash Avenues;thence southwester-
ly 65.00 feet on a line 15.0 feet northwesterly from and
parallel to said center line of main traok,to the initial
point;containing an area of 3528.2 square feet or 0.08
acre, more or less. 1.

RESERVING, however, unto the Railway Company the right
to lay, maintain and operate thereon and thereover such track
or tracks as it may deem necessary, without being required
to obtain the consent of the City therefor, the same as if this
Indenture had not been executed.
TO HAVE AND TO HOU) the above described premises unto
the City solely for road purposes so long as said premises shall
be so used upon the express condition that If the premises here-
in above described shall cease to be usec.for the purpose above
stated, then and in that event the right hereby given shall
thereupon cease and determine and the Railway Company shall re-
sume possession thereof the same as though this Indenture had
not been executed.
IN WITNESS THE OP, the Railway Company has duly executed
this indenture the day and year first hereinabove written.
