E edcr Disaster Services Memorandum of Understanding This Agreement is made and enteredinto between the City Council of the City of Redlands,San Bernardino County, State of Callifirruia,and the Inland Empire Chapter of the Arnerican Red Cross. Recitals Pursuant to the terms of federal statutes,the Red Cross.s provi erge y services in behalf of individuals and families who are victims of disasters,the Cite of Redlands is authorized to permit the Red Cross to use addendum 1)the buildings,grounds,and equipment for mass care sheft required in the conduct of Red Cross Disaster Services activities,and wishes to cooperate with the Red Cross for such purposes.See addendum#1 The parties hereto mutually desire to reach an understanding that will result in making the aforesaid facilities of the City of Redlands,State of California available to the Reel Cross for the aforesaid use. Now,therefore,it is mutually agreed between the parties as follows: 1.The City of Redlands agrees that,after meeting its responsibilities to its community,it will permits to the extent of its ability and upon request by the Red Cross,the use of its physical facilities by the Red Cross for Dass Care-, sheltering,operations enter,client service center,and bulk distribution of disaster supplies to victims of disaster. 2.The American Red Cross agrees that it will exercise reasonable care in the conduct of its activities in such facilities and farther agrees to replace or reimburse the City of Redlands for any foods or supplies that may be used by the Red Crass in the conduct of its relief activities in said mass shelters. 3.American Cross shall defend,hold harmless,and indemnify the City of Redlands against any legal liability, including reasonable attorney fees,in respect to bodily injury,death and property damage arising from the negligence of the Red Cross during the use of the Premises. 4.A Facilities Use Agreement should be completed and signed by the facility owner/representative and an American :Red Cross authorized representative to document an agreement with a facility_ owner regarding the use ofthe facility during a disaster- .The term of this agreement begins on the date of the last signature below and ends 30 days afkw wfitten notice by either party. In witness thereof,the governing board of The City of Redlands has causedthis agreemerd to be executed by the administrator of its governing board,and the American Red Cross has camsedthis agreement to be executed by the Inland Empire Chapter,said agreement to become effective and operative upon the fixing ofthe Inst signature hereto. Redlands Ca.92373 If your facility is Identified as a potential shelter site during an emergency,we will contact you prior to our use.Upon us opening a shelter,we will do a walk through with ap n `ve the City of Redlands.
