HomeMy WebLinkAboutContracts & Agreements_114-96_CCv0001.pdf CITY OF REDLANDS ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES/RECREAT N MEMORANDUM OF UNDERST ING between REDLANDS COMMUNITY SPITAL and THE CITY OF REDLANDS REC ATION I- T1 t f The City of Redlands, through it's Administive Services Department Recreation Division (hereinafter referred to as Redlands Recreati '), and Redlands Community Hospital (hereinafter referred to as RCH) enter into this Merandum of Understanding (MOU) for the express purpose of implementing the Communit)V Challenge Grant Program. Redlands Recreation realizes there is//need in this community for positive teen activities, teen pregnancy prevention, teen parentipg, and teen father programs. It is the desire of Redlands Recreation to collaborate with I H through the Community Challenge Grant Program to provide these services in the Redlands community. I. PURPOSE: The purpose of the`MOU is to establish a formal working relationship between the parties, based on./their intent to meet the service delivery needs of the Program as described in the.narrative proposal, and to set forth the operative conditions which will govern this partnership. II. TERM: The term of this MOU shall be the period beginning February 1, 1997 and continuing for twenfy nine months until June 30, 1999. This MOU may be reviewed and/or amended in writing by both parties annually. III. TERMINATION: T 's MOU may be terminated by either party without cause, upon 60 days advance itten notice to the other party. IV. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: % A: Redlands Recreation agrees to be an active participant in the Community Challenge Grant Collaboration and to attend all meetings connected with the { 1 Program, to work in cooperation with the other collaborators and RCH, on outcome program evaluations, and to complete and submit all required expenditures, reports and invoices in a timely manner. B: Redlands Recreation agrees to provide weekly positive teen recreational activities including classes, events, and field trips, to encourage positive use of discretionary time, enhance self esteem and educate and inform teens. C: Redlands Recreation agrees to provide peer counseling, parenting training, job skills and leadership activities to assist in the prevention and intervention of teenage pregnancies and teen parenting (father and mother). D: Redlands Recreation will continue to work with other agencies and programs such as Toughlove, Safe Haven and San Bernardino County WIC to identify and service these teen populations and their families for the purpose of the Community Challenge Grant Program. V. HOLD HARMLESS/INDEMNIFICATION: Redlands Recreation and RCH each shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the other party, its boards, officers, agents and employees from and against any and all claims, costs, demands, expenses, losses, damages, injuries and liabilities arising from any accident, death, or injury whatsoever or however caused to any person or property, because of, arising out of, or related to the negligence of either party. VI. COMPENSATION: RCH Community Challenge Grant Program shall pay Redlands Recreation $30,000 for services provided pursuant to this MOU, for the provision of staff costs for a Recreation Coordinator, training, supplies and consultants. The rates for and amounts of reimbursable services shall be reviewed as necessary on an annual basis. Redlands Recreation invoices to RCH shall be due and payable upon receipt. We hereby agree to this Memorandum of Understanding and certify to the agreements made herein.
