Re: Continued Engagement of Best Best & Krieger LLP
Dear Mr. McHugh:
Best Best & Krieger LLP is pleased to continue to represent the City of Redlands
("Redlands") with regard to water rights and quality, and other environmental matters regarding
the Valley District Percolation Pond Proposal matter. This letter constitutes our agreement
setting forth the terms of our representation and at your request, we have prepared this Continued
Engagement Letter for Mayor Foster's signature.
We have checked the following names against our client index: City of Redlands, East
Valley Water District, Yucaipa Valley Water District, and San Bernardino Valley Municipal
Water District. Based on that check, we can represent the City on this new matter, if we obtain
written consent from San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District as discussed in the
accompanying letter describing the potential conflict of interest. Please review the list to see if
any other persons or entities should be included. If you do not tell us to the contrary, we will
assume that this list is complete and accurate. We request that you update this list for us if there
are any changes in the future.
The terms of our representation are as set forth in our original engagement letter with
Redlands. I will continue to represent Redlands along with my partners Eric Garner and Shawn
Hagerty and our reduced hourly rate is $450. The Of Counsel/Associate reduced hourly rate will
be $325. Maya Mouawad will be the Associate working on this matter.
