HomeMy WebLinkAbout8105 RESOLUTION NO 8105 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS IDENTIFYING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONSE AWAY FROM THEIR OFFICIAL DUTY STATION AND ASSIGNED TO AN EMERGENCY INCIDENT, AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO 7489 WHEREAS, the City of Redlands is a public agency located in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, and WHEREAS, it is the City of Redlands' desire to provide fair and legal payment to all its employees for time worked, and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has in its employ 54 Fire response personnel including the Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, Battalion Chiefs, Fire Captains, Engineers, Firefighter/Paramedics, and Firefighter/EMT, and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands will compensate its fire response personnel portal to portal while in the course of their employment and away from their official duty station and assigned to an emergency incident, m support of an emergency incident, or pre-positioned for emergency response, and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands will compensate its fire response personnel overtime in accordance with their respective and current Memorandums of Understandmg while in the course of their employment and away from their official duty station and assigned to an emergency incident, in support of an emergency incident, or pre-positioned for emergency response, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows Section 1 Fire response personnel shall be compensated according to Redlands Professional Firefighters, Redlands Association of Fire Management Employees, and/or Redlands Association of Department Directors Memorandums of Understandmg Section 2 In the event a personnel classification does not have an assigned compensation rate, a "Base Rate" as set forth m an organizational policy, administrative directive or similar document will be established to compensate such personnel Section 3 The City of Redlands Fire Department will maintain a current salary survey or acknowledgement of acceptance of the "Base Rate" on file with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services, Fire Rescue Division 1 I\Resolutions\Res 8100 8199\8105 oT Portal to Portal Compensation Rescinding Reso 7489 docx Section 4 Fire response personnel will be compensated (portal to portal) beginning at the time of dispatch to the return to Jurisdiction when equipment and personnel are in service and available for agency response ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED on this 16th day of June 2020 C----) c Paul W Foster, Mayor ATTEST P,..1.44-1-- atai----- J e Donaldson, City Clerk 2 1 1Resolutions\Res 8100 8199/8105 OT Portal to Portal Compensation Rescinding Reso 7489 docx I, Jeanne Donaldson, City Clerk of the City of Redlands, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 16th day of June, 2020, by the following vote AYES Councilmembers Barich, Tejeda, Momberger, Davis, Mayor Foster NOES None ABSTAIN None ABSENT None % r Je.)/e Donaldson, City Clerk 3 I\Resolutions\Res 8100 8199\8105 OT Portal to Portal Compensation Rescinding Reso 7489.docx
