HomeMy WebLinkAbout8115RESOLUTION NO 8115 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF RESOURCES RECYCLING AND RECOVERY (CALRECYCLE) HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, grant funds are available from the State of California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) for the purchase and construction of a steel canopy at the City of Redlands Household Hazardous Waste site, and WHEREAS, CalRecycle offers the Household Hazardous Waste Grant Program for the purpose of assisting local governments in implementing safe Household Hazardous Waste Programs (HHW), which may include public education, source reduction, reuse, recycling, load checking and collection components, and WHEREAS, the Redlands HHW is run and staffed by the San Bernardmo County Fire Protection District at the City Corp Yard located at 1270 W Park Avenue, Redlands, and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands and the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District agree that the purchase and installation of a steel canopy at the collection facility site will enhance the HHW Program by providing protection to both staff and storage containers by providmg protection against mclement weather, and WHEREAS, the construction and installation of a steel canopy will increase the days of operation at the facility my minimizing the closure dates due to inclement weather, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS Section 1.
