SUBJECT: AMENDMENTS TO CONTRACTS WITH VARIOUS AGENCIES FOR ACCESS
TO THE CALIFORNIA LAW ENFORCEMENT TELECOMMUNICATIONS
SYSTEM (CLETS) AND MAINTENANCE OF RELATED EQUIPMENT.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve amendment to contracts with the following agencies for access
to CLETS and maintenance of related equipment:
City of Chino 92-250 A7
City of Los Angeles 96-1020 A2
City of Ontario 92-264 A5
City of Redlands 92-810 A6
City of San Bernardino 95-1062 A3
West End Communications Authority 92-251 A5
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: By State of California mandate, the Sheriffs Department
oversees the local switching center that allows access to CLETS to local law enforcement
agencies. In turn, the Department contracts with these agencies to spread the cost of the
system among the agencies using the system.
Contracts for CLETS access are amended annually to revise the fee schedule and ensure proper
remuneration to the County.
REVIEW BY OTHERS: These contract amendments have been reviewed by the County
Administrative Office and have been reviewed and approved as to form by Deputy County
Counsel Kevin L. Norris.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Revenue generated by these contracts, in the amount of $38,360, fully
offsets the cost of providing the service. No cost to the County

SIX'T'H AMENDMENT
Contract 92-810 with the Redlands Police Department is hereby amended, effective July 1, 1998, by
replacing Schedules A and B, referred to in Paragraph VII,with the attached Schedules A and B.
Except as amended, all other terms and conditions of this contract remain as stated therein.
Any provisions on the reverse side and referenced attachments hereof constitute a part of this contract and are incorporated
herein in full.
