A RESOLUTION OF 1 FIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING
PARKING REGULATIONS FOR THE CFI Y'S SATURDAY MORNING CERTIFIED
FARMERS' MARKET PURSUANT TO SECTION 10 40 090 OF I HE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL
CODE AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO 6767
WHEREAS, the City's Saturday Morning Certified Farmers' Market is a seasonal
community event that provides the community with an opportunity to support local fanners and to
purchase fresh produce during the spring and summer months and
WHEREAS, the Saturday Morning Certified Farmers' Market brings visitors to the City's
downtown, thereby assisting the economic vitality of Redlands, and
WHEREAS, the Saturday Morning Certified Fanners' Market implements policy 11 Og of the
City's General Plan by developing and fostenng the expansion and retention of local businesses, and
WHEREAS, the Saturday Morning Certified Fanners' Market utilizes the municipal parking
tactlities located on the south side of Redlands Boulevard between Fifth and Sixth streets, and
WHEREAS, the Saturday Morning Certified Farmers' Market presently operates during the
months of April through September from 6 00 a m until 11 00 a m , and
WHEREAS, the closing of the City's parking lot located on the south side ot Redlands
Boulevard between Fifth and Sixth streets is necessary foi conducting the Saturday Morning
Certified Farmers' Market and is necessary foi the safety and protection of persons who use those
portions of the parking lot during the hours of this special event in accordance with Section
10 40 090 of the Redlands Municipal Code, and
WHEREAS, as a result of the success of the City's Saturday Morning Certified Farmers'
Mai ket, City staff has recommended to the City Council of the City of Redlands ("this City
Council") that the proposed operating times foi the Mai ket be extended, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"), this City
Council previously approved a negative declaration foi this City Council's adoption ot Resolution
No 6767 which originally established the operating hours and months of the Saturday Morning
Certified Farmers' Market, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 15162 of the State's CEQA Guidelines. this City
Council has determined that no further environmental review is necessary in connection with the
adoption of this Resolution No 6884 which changes the hours of the municipal paiking tacilities on
the south side ot Redlands Boulevard between Fifth and Sixth streets and during which the Saturday
Morning Certified Faizners' Market will operate.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
Section 1 Pursuant to Section 10 40 090 of the Redlands Municipal Code, no parking shall
be permitted in the municipal part king lot located on the south side of Redlands Boulevard between
Fifth and Sixth streets as shown on Exhibit "A" when the Saturday Morning Certified Farmers'
Maiket is setting up and operating during the months of April through Octobei annually between the
hours of 6 00 a m and 11 00 am
