Please consider this letter an agreement between the City of Redlands and Aaron Read
Associates(ARA)to provide legislative representation beginning January 2, 2002 and
ending September'10, 2002, During the to of this agreement, either party can cancel
the agreement with thirty(30) days prior written notice,
ARA will be considered independent contractors and not employees. ARA will monitor
actions of the Governor, state agencies and the Legislature. ARA will seek policy
direction from the City of Redlands and will provide advocacy services when directed to
o so by the City of Redlands.
During the term of this agreement, the City of Redlands agrees to pay ARA the sum of
$2,500 per month, payable on the first of the month in advance, ARA unll absorb the
cost of long distance phone calls, faxes, postage, photocopies and other miscellaneous
expenses. The City of Redlands agrees to reimburse ARA for any rewired travel
expenses that might be necessary to attend meetings or legislative hearings scheduled
outside of Sacramento. Travel will only be with the prior written approval of the City of
Redlands.
If any legal action or proceeding is brought by either party to enforce any part of this
agreement, the prevailing party shall recover, in addition to all other relief, reasonable
attorney's fees and costs. If the foregoing is an accurate reflection of the City of
Redlands' understanding, please indicate by signing, dating and returning the original to
Aaron Read&Associates. The second copy is provided for your files.
