A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 6768 TO ELIMINATE A NO PARKING
ZONE LOCATED ON THE NORTHSIDE FRONTAGE OF COPE MIDDLE
SCHOOL ON FERN AVENUE, EAST OF JACINTO STREET
WHEREAS, pursuant to studies made under the authority of Title 10 of the Redlands
Municipal Code, and the presentation of information contained in such studies, the City Council
of the City of Redlands has determined that certain traffic regulations are necessary to protect the
public health, safety and welfare and should be established pursuant to Title 10 of the Redlands
Municipal Code;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS.
Section 1. This City Council determines that approval of this Resolution is exempt
from environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA') pursuant
to CEQA Guidelines section 15061(b)(3) which provides that CEQA applies only to projects
which have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment. This City Council
finds with certainty that there is no possibility the approval of this Resolution may have a
significant effect on the environment.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 10.36.010 of the Redlands Municipal Code, this City
Council hereby eliminates the approximately three hundred (300) foot `no parking zone' along
the north side frontage of Cope Middle School on Fern Avenue, east of Jacinto Street.
Section 3. Pursuant to Section 10.40.090 of the Redlands Municipal Code, establish
on Fern Avenue along the rear of Cope Middle School for approximately 300 feet.
Section 4. That Resolution No. 6768 of the City Council of the City of Redlands is
hereby rescinded.
Section 5. City staff is hereby directed to immediately remove existing 'no parking
zone' signage and markings to implement this Resolution.
Section 6. Pursuant to Section 10.40.310 of the Redlands Municipal Code, establish a
2 -hour time limit parking zone on both sides of Eureka Street from Fern Avenue south to Home
Place and allow abutting residents to park without any time restrictions.
