Attached are cost estimates and description of work necessary to
relocate our facilities within the kedlan2s Project.
As you know, there is a difference of opinion between the City of
Redlands and the Southern California Gas Company as to which shall
pay the costs of relocating gas mains in the redevelopment project.
The City and the Gas Company agree that the Gas Company shall
ielucaLe their gas mains and services, as necessary, without a
prior agreement by the City to pay for this roiccation. However,
the fact that the Gas Company proceeds to do the work shall not
be construed as an admission or agreement cn the part of the Gas
Company that it is obligated under its franchise or any other
agreement, or by law, to do the work at its expense.
The respective obligations of the parties to pay for the cost of
relocating the above mentioned facilities may be determined by a
court of competent jurisdiction.
If the above conditions are acceptable, please sit-,,.n and return
two copies of this letter so that we may proceed "ith o"r work.
