A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO FILE APPLICATIONS WITH THE LOCAL
AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO INITIATE PROCEEDINGS TO ADD
CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY'S SPHERE OF INFLUENCE AND TO
ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY (ANNEXATION NO 82)
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS
FOLLOWS.
1 That the City Council of the City of Redlands declares its intent to file an application
and commence proceedings with the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of San
Bernardino to add certain territory described in Exhibit A attached hereto, and as shown on the
map attached hereto as Exhibit "B' to the City of Redlands' Sphere of Influence.
2. That the City Council of the City of Redlands, for the reasons hereinafter mentioned,
proposes to file an application with the Local Agency Formation Commission to initiate on its own
motion, as soon as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands all of the
territory hereinafter described, as uninhabited territory pursuant to the Cortese -Knox -Hertzberg
Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000, Division 3, commencing with Section 56000 of the
Government Code of the State of California.
3 That the City Council's reasons for proposing to initiate the sphere of influence and
annexation proceedings are as follows: A change in the sphere of influence and the annexation of
the hereinafter described territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the City provide the proper
control of street layout, drainage and water and sanitary sewer design, and insure the proper use of
land in conformity with the overall plan of the City
4 That the territory which the City Council proposes to annex is hereby identified as
Annexation No. 82 and consists of all that real property situated in the County of San Bernardino,
State of California, described in Exhibit "A," attached hereto, and as shown on the map attached
hereto as Exhibit 'B.
5 That the City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to file with the Local
Agency Formation Commission of the County of San Bernardino this resolution stating that
proceedings will be initiated to add the above described territory to the City's Sphere of Influence
and annex the described inhabited territory to the City of Redlands, to request a report by the
Commission provided for by the Cortese -Knox -Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act
of 2000, and to submit and execute such other applications and reports as may be required by law
in such sphere of influence and annexation proceedings.
