HomeMy WebLinkAbout6155RESOLUTION NO 6155 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ADOPTING A LOCATIONAL PLAN FOR THE PLACEMENT OF DIRECTIONAL SIGNS FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF REDLANDS WITHIN CITY RIGHT OF WAY WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands has adopted an ordinance establishing policies for the location of institutional directional signs within City right-of-way, and WHEREAS, the University of Redlands is an institution permitted under the ordinance to place directional signs around its campus to provide assistance to the visiting public, and WHEREAS, the City has received an application from the University ofRedlands indicating where such signs are proposed to be located along with the size of the proposed signs, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A," and WHEREAS, the City's Public Works Director has reviewed the proposed locations of the signs and has determined that they will not interfere with pedestrian or motoring traffic, and will not impact the public health or safety, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS Section 1. That directional signs for the University of Redlands shall be permitted in City nght-of-way in the locations as shown on Exhibit "A " Section 2 That this proposal is consistent with Section 4.92 of the City's General Plan governing the University of Redlands and its relationship with the City of Redlands as a whole Section 3 That the proposed directional signs placed in the City nght-of-way are for a valid public purpose by assisting citizens to locate institutional uses in the City Section 4.
