HomeMy WebLinkAbout6329RESOLUTION NO. 6329 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS RELATIVE TO AN APPLICATION TO THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO INITIATE PROCEEDINGS FOR ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY (ANNEXATION 83) Whereas, the City has received an application, required fees, and a petition from Amethyst Bible Church for annexation of 4.89 acres located on the northwest corner of Mentone Boulevard (Highway 38) and Amethyst Street into the City of Redlands; and Whereas, the subject property is uninhabited and is located in the City's Sphere of Influence in the Mentone area; and Whereas, this City Council is interested in responding to the interest of the property owner to annex the above described site into the City of Redlands by initiating an application for annexation with the Local Agency Formation Commission; and Whereas, it is desired that the proposed annexation be subject to the following terms and conditions: 1 The area proposed for annexation is being developed as a church known as Conditional Use Permit No. 818 and approved by the City Council on July 20, 2004 Pre -zoning of the property was approved at the same time to R 1, Single Family Residential. The property owner has requested this annexation by the City of Redlands. The City is, therefore, requesting that the Local Agency Formation Commission approve the proposal with the waiver of further conducting authority proceedings as authorized by Government Code Section 56663(c). 2. The proposed annexation shall be subject to all standard conditions required by the Local Agency Formation Commission; and Whereas, an initial study was prepared under the California Environmental Quality Act for the pre zoning and conditional use permit. It was reviewed by the Environmental Review Committee on March 16, 2004 and a mitigated negative declaration was recommended. This action was referred to the Local Agency Formation Commission for their review as well. On July 20, 2004 the City Council adopted the mitigated negative declaration and directed that staff file and post a `Notice of Determination in accordance with City Guidelines.
