HomeMy WebLinkAbout5770RESOLUTION NO 5770 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO FILE AN APPLICATION WITH THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY (ANNEXATION NO 79) BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS 1 That the City Council of the City of Redlands, for the reasons hereinafter mentioned, proposes to file an application with the Local Agency Formation commission to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Redlands all of the territory hereinafter described, as inhabited territory pursuant to the Cortese -Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985 Division 3 commencing with Section 56000 of the Government Code of the State of California. 2. That the City Council's reasons for proposing to initiate said annexation proceedings are as follows: The annexation of the hereinafter described territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the City provide the proper control of street layout, drainage and sanitary sewer design, and insure the proper use of land in conformity with the overall plan of the City 3 That this proposal is consistent with the sphere of influence of the City of Redlands. 4 That the territory which the City Council proposes to annex is hereby identified as Annexation No. 79 and consists of all that real property situated in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, described in Exhibit A, attached hereto, and as shown on the maps attached hereto as Exhibit 'B 5 That the City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to file with the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of San Bernardino, State of California, this resolution stating that proceedings have been initiated to annex the herein above described inhabited territory DJM3169LE to the City of Redlands, to request a report by the Commission provided for by the Cortese -Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, and to submit and execute such other applications and reports as may be required by law in such annexation proceedings. Commencing at the Northwest corner of the Northeast quarter of said Section 17 Thence Southerly along the North-South centerline of said Section, said centerline also being the existing boundary of the City of Redlands, to the point of intersection with the South line of the property owned by the San Bernardino County Flood Control District per Instrument No. 93-469033 Official Records of said County said point being the True Point of Beginning; Thence leaving said City boundary Easterly along said South line to the West line of Parcel Map No. 4922 as recorded in Book 51 page 42 of Parcel Maps records of said County. Thence Northerly and Easterly along the West and North boundary of said Parcel Map to the Westerly right-of-way line of Sapphire Street, 30.00 feet half width, as said street currently exists; Thence Northeasterly along said right-of-way line to the North line of said Section 17 Thence Easterly along said North line of Section 17 and the North line of Section 16 to the North quarter corner of Section 16, Thence Southerly along the North-South centerline of Section 16 to the South quarter corner of said Section, said point also being on the existing boundary of the City of Redlands; Thence Westerly Northerly Northwesterly and Easterly along said existing City boundary through all its various courses to the True Point of Beginning.
