A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ESTABLISHING FEES FOR THE REDLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE
REDLANDS ANIMAL SHELTER PROGRAM AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NOS. 5131
AND 5169
WHEREAS, Chapter 3 16 of the Redlands Municipal Code authorizes this City Council to
require the ascertainment of recovery of costs reasonably borne from fees and charges levied therefor
in providing the regulation, products, or services hereinafter enumerated, and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands contracted with the firm of David M. Griffith & Associates
to perform a study and produce a Report on the Costs, Fees and Revenues of various City
departments and produce a Full Cost Allocation Plan to support the assigmnent of City overhead
to the various services; programs and activities; and
WHEREAS, the Redlands Police Department is required to provide various reports, permits
and other services to the public, and operates a holding facility which is utilized by the San
Bernardino County Sheriff's Department for the temporary housing of prisoners awaiting court
proceedings; and
WHEREAS, the Redlands Police Department operates the Redlands Animal Shelter and the
City Council has approved the spay -neuter program for dogs and cats adopted through the Shelter,
and
WHEREAS, the spay -neuter program consists of a 'public-private' partnership between the
City's Animal Shelter, non-profit groups such as BARC, and the Redlands District Humane
Society and private veterinarians; and
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS as follows:
Section 1. The fees for the Redlands Police Department as set forth in Exhibit A attached
hereto are hereby adopted.
Section 2. The fees specified in Exhibit "A and attached to this resolution shall become
effective immediately upon the adoption of this resolution and Resolution Nos. 5131 and 5169 are
hereby rescinded.
