Dear Jack,
In confirmation of the agreement negotiated by Supervisor Dennis Hansberger
and Mayor Jack Cummings, it is understood that the County will provide two
buses with drivers and support personnel to operate in the City of Redlands
and Mentone for approximately 30 days. We will keep trach of the mileage
of these two buses during this period and repayment to the County will be
made by providing an equal number of miles in the Mentone area at no
charge to the County after SETS takes over the operation.
All Fares collected will be retained by the operating agency.
Reimbursement to the County will be on the following basis:
County (2 Buses)
Route Miles in Mentone 4.05 x 12 trips = 48.6 miles/day
Route Miles in Redlands 19.75 x 12 trips - 237.0 miles/day
Total 23.80 miles/trip 285.6 miles/day
SBTS (2 Buses)
Route Miles in Mentone 4.05 x 13 trips = 52.65 miles/day
Route Miles in Redlands 1.3.75 x 13 trips 256.75 miles/day
Total 23.80 miles/trip - 309.40 miles/day

The two County buses will be operating 237.00 miles/day in Redlands and
48.6 miles/day in Mentone and the two SETS buses will be operating 256.7
miles/day in Redlands and 52.65 miles/day in Mentone. This schedule should
provide the County with an operating credit of 237.00 - 52.65 = 184.35
miles/day.
Upon the expiration of this agreement, the City of Redlands and/or SBTS
will provide service to Mentone at no charge to the County until the
accumulated mileage credits have been used.
If this arrangement meets with your approval, please acknowledge in the
space provided below and return one copy to this office.
