As you know, this legislation will require a review of species by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The review must show a substantial increase in the population to remain listed as an endangered species. This legislation is important to the city of Redlands as our community has areas that are environmentally sensitive and important to our community. Redlands is wedged between local streams and rivers, including the Santa Ana River, Mill Creek, and San Timoteo Creek, and having much open space, we are sensitive the creatures that live within our community. In addition, it is important species listed as endangered accurately reflect current conditions. Because of this, your legislation addresses these concerns and could result in the reduction or elimination of costly studies and mitigation measures for extinct species. This could result in increased economic growth and a reduction in wasted resources. For these reasons, the Redlands City Council supports the H.R. 1042. Sincerel , Pete Aguilar Mayor 'W"ACrffZwWuw*
