SUBJECT: GRANT DEED TO THE CITY OF REDLANDS ON PARCEL OF LAND AT
THE SANTA ANA RIVER FILE: 3-101
RECOMMENDATION: Acting as the governing body of the Flood Control District
(FCD) (1) Adopt Resolution No. 9 6-16 determining that FCD Zone 3, property
located in the City of Redlands, Santa Ana River, Parcel 71 is no longer necessary to
be retained for the uses and purposes of the FCD. (2) Authorize execution of Flood
Control District Santa Ana River Parcel 71.
BACKGROUND: For several years the City of Redlands has been encroaching onto
Jistrict land on the South side of the Santa Ana River at the City's land fill project. At
the same time the District has been encroaching onto City land to gain access to the
Santa Ana River's South Levee just West of Alabama Street. The District and the City
have proposed a land exchange at this location to alleviate both encroachments.
Santa Ana River Parcel 71 will grant a narrow strip of land to the City which will relieve
the City encroachment onto District land. The City is currently processing a Deed to
the District that covers the District's current access road from Alabama Street to the
South Levee.
REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: Board approval is required to declare the
property surplus to FCD needs and to execute the document.
REVIEW BY OTHERS: These items were reviewed by Deputy County Counsel
Charles S. Scolastico on January 17, 1996 and by Third Supervisorial District staff on
January 17, 1996.
FINANCIAL DATA: There will be no financial impact to the District resulting from this
exchange of Grant Deeds.

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT
JANUARY 30, 1996
On motion of Supervisor Eaves and duly seconded by Supervisor
Riordan and carried, the following Resolution of the Board of Supervisors for the
San Bernardino County Flood Control District, Stare of California, is hereby adopted on
behalf of the body corporate and politic shown above:
RESOLUTION NO. 96-16
WHEREAS, Flood Control District Zone 3, property located in the City of Redlands,
Santa Ana River, Parcel 71 (portion of Assessor Parcel No. 0167-391-04 containing 6.5
acres, more or less), was acquired for public purposes and is no longer needed by the
Flood Control District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the San
Bernardino County Flood Control District, State of California, that said parcel is determined
to be no longer necessary to be retained by the District, and that the Flood Control District
is directed to proceed with the transfer of the property to the City of Redlands.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of San Bernardino County, State
of California, by the following vote:
