Enclosed is a copy of a letter from the Community Services
Director indicating the projected schedule of events
regarding the parking lot improvements behind Beverly Manor
Convalescent Hospital. The letter points out two options the
City will have regarding the parking lot improvements.
(a) If Grant funding becomes available, improvements would
include paving, landscaping, irrigation system, security
lighting and other amendments to provide a first class
parking facility.
(b) If Grant funding is not available , the Community
Services Department will request Park Tax funds to
complete the project . The Parks Commission has
indicated they would like to accomplish the above
project within the next year.
If these two options fail to materialize, the Utilities
Department will assume total responsibility for paving the
parking lot per your request. It appears very favorable that
one of the two options will be implemented during the next
year based on conversations with the Community Services
Director.
Also enclosed is a copy of the revised easement with the
width changed to 20 feet. This will allow the contractor to
leave the curb in place and also the existing landscaping.

The specifications will be written to include a maximum time
for installation of the piping across the property, probably
two consecutive working days . All paving and damaged
facilities will be replaced to the satisfaction_ of the
Hospital Administrator . All work on the property will be
coordinated with the Administrator. Access to the property
will be maintained at all times during construction.
If you have any suggestions for items you would like us to
include in the specifications, please feel free to call me at

RE: FORD PARK IMPROVEMENTS
This is to inform you that the Redlands Parks Commission has recommended
on the City of Redlands Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan for Parks and
Recreation Services, to include the development of a parking lot at Ford
Park.
Attached is a copy of the Ford Park Improvement project which designates
the development of the Five-Year Capital Improvement Project take place
during the 1987-88 fiscal year. In addition, also attached is a copy of the
Application For Local Assistance from State Department of Parks and
Recreation in the amount of $250,000 to make the improvements described
in the Five-year Capital Improvement Plan.
The City will be notified in January 1987 whether or not it has been awarded
the grant monies requested. If awarded, the City may then prepare working
drawings and specifications for the construction of the parking lot and its
amenities prior to receiving funding on July 1, 1987. If a grant is not
