NOTICE OF LIEN
To be assessed upon real property owned by Alan M. Smotkin
and Michele S . Smotkin, Trustees under THE SMOTKIN FAMILY
TRUST dated February 13, 1974 . Pursuent to the authority
contained by Chapter 84 and Article 844 of the Redlands
Ordinance Code, City of Redlands, California the City of
Redlands did, on the 15th of April 1986 , cause a substand-
ard dwelling and garage which constituted a public nuisance
to be abated on the real property hereinafter described and
did on the 5th day of August 1986 , by Resolution No. 4191
assess the cost of such abatement upon said real property
hereinafter described. Of said cost there remains unpaid
to the City of Redlands the sum of TWO THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED
SIXTY TWO DOLLARS AND TWENTY FOUR CEN'T'S ($2 , 262 . 24) , and
therefore said City of Redlands does hereby claim a lien
upon said real property in the amount of TWO THOUSAND TWO
HUNDRED SIXTY TWO DOLLARS AND TWENTY FOUR CENTS ($2 ,262. 24)
together with interest calculated thereon at the rate of
seven percent (7%) per annum from the FOURTH DAY OF
SEPTEMBER 1986 , until said amount has been paid in full and
this lien discharged of record.
The real property hereinbefore mentioned and upon which a
lien is hereby claimed is the parcel of real property
situated in the City of Redlands, County of San Bernardino,
State of California, and more particular described as
follows :

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
EXPRESSING FINDINGS THAT THE PUBLIC NUISANCE OF A SUBSTANDARD
HOUSE AND GARAGE PIAS ABATED AS A PUBLIC NMISANCE AT THE
CITY' S E`1PENSE AIM THEREFORE THE COSTS ARE TO BE RECOVERED
FROM THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY OR IF NOT PAID, ASSESSED AS A
LIEN AGAINST THE PROPERTY
tlHEREAS, the dwelling and garage located at 1070 East
San Bernardino Avenue were condemned as substandard buildings
and a public nuisance because of its unmaintained, derelict
condition; and
WHEREAS, the owner did not respond to the condemnation
order to abate the public nuisance nor did the owners appeal
the condemnation order, the City then proceeded to abate the
aublic nuisance be demolition and in so doing incurred a
total processing and demolition expense of $2 ,262 .24;
NOW, THEREFORE, HE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
hereby resolves as follows:
1. The cost of abating the public nuisance shall be
placed as an assessment and recorded as a lien
against the property from which the public nuisance
was abated and is herein described:

2 . The balance of the assessment remaining unpaid
after 30 c'ays from the date of recording on the
assessment roll shall become delinquent and shall
bear interest at the rate of 7 percent per annum
from an aftersaid date.
3 . Said special assessment and lien ordered by this
resolution shall not be contested in any action or
;proceedings unless the sane is commen::ed within 30
days after the assessment is placed on the assess
,gent rolls as provided by this resolution. Any
appeal from a final judgement or proceeding must be
perfected within 30 days after entry of such
Judgement.
