The inventory has been compiled by department, and contains as much information on each site as staff was able to provide: location, size, land use and purchase price. Notations regarding map designations refer to parcels that have been placed on a city-wide parcel map for reference. It should be noted that prior to the completion of this inventory, numerous parcels were unaccounted for(e.g. parcels outside the city limits owned by utilities, and park land by parcel number); we can now identify everything from large blocks of open space to well sites and street right-of-way. Of particular benefit is the fact that this list will allow Finance to begin developing an asset management plan and to identify specific insurance risks. The Finance Department will assume responsibility for maintenance of the inventory, however, copies of the inventory will be distributed to each department. This will provide them with a complete catalog of each parcel within their departmental jurisdiction and enable staff to respond to inquiries and service referrals quickly. If you have any questions concerning the inventory, please contact me at X7545. RO.
