Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. are as follows:

A. Call Special Meeting to Order
Chairman Macdonald called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.
B. Public Comments
(At this time, the Planning Commission will provide an opportunity for the public to address them
on the subject, which is scheduled on this special joint meeting agenda. Please limit your
comments to three (3) minutes.)
C. Workshop to discuss possible implementation of Design Guidelines, a Technical Design Review
Committee and/or an Architectural Review Board.
Assistant Director Robert Dalquest indicated that the Special Meeting was called to discuss the various
methods to improve the design and architecture of projects in addition to the possibility of creating an
Architectural Review Board. Mr. Dalquest gave a brief overview of three alternative approaches to
provide improved project designs.
There was discussion relative to the three alternatives approaches and the Commission agreed that
another review board was not necessary. It was suggested that staff gather information from four to five
different cities relative to their architectural guidelines.
The Commission decided to form a subcommittee composed of Commissioner's Miller, Foster and
Shamp who will work with City staff on the formation of more detailed design guidelines.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Macdonald adjourned the meeting was adjourned at 1:48 p.m.
