PRESENT Jack B . Cummings, Mayor-Chairman Charles G. DeMirjyn, Vice Mayor-Member Chresten M. Knudsen, Councilman-Member Ellsworth E. Miller, Councilman-Member Sam S . Sewall, Councilman-Member R. P . Merritt, Jr. , City Manager - Redevelopment Director Edward F. Taylor, City Attorney Peggy A. Moseley, City Clerk Chuck Palmer, San Bernardino Sun ABSENT None The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, followed by the invocation by Reverend Thomas J. Walling of the Central Church of Christ. Mayor Cummings welcomed the few people in attend- ance an-d explained that the meeting was held in this location because the hearing on the Redevelop- ment Plan had been tabled to this time from the �, meeting of September 6 held here in Clock Auditorium. Deputy Director of Redevelopment Mr . John Wagner described the change in area of the Redevelopment Project area as directed by the citizens attending the last meeting and stated that this is essentially along Colton Avenue from Church Street to New York, then north on New York Street extended to Lugonia Avenue, then west to the city limits . Mr . Wagner showed a slide of a map of the area as approved by the Planning Commission. This map shows a jog in the boundary at the Teledyne plant in order to continue the location of this plant within the redevelopment area. Mr. Wagner added that this plan was approved by Resolutions No. 381, 382, and 383 of the Planning Commission at their meeting of Alf : September 12, 1972. Mayor Cummings again expressed the Council ' s regret at the reduction in the area and opened w the meeting for a public hearing of any comments r� or questions concerning the new boundaries of the Redevelopment Project Area. Mr. Gus Bisesi, of 1100 East Citrus Avenue, congratulated the Council on their efforts, urged the Councilmen to proceed with haste on this development, and offered any personal assistance he might give. Mr. Carl Doss, Chairman of the Downtown Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, expressed regret at the decrease of the area and urged all speed in moving ahead. Mr. Knudsen spoke briefly about the tax freeze which would be a part of the redevelopment program. Clarification of this matter was offered by Mr. Doss, Councilman Sewall, Mr. Hill and Mr. Merritt. There being no further comments, Mayor Cummings at this time closed the public hearing, and the joint meeting of the Council and Redevelopment Agency adjourned, on motion, to meetings of each separate entity to be held immediately.
