Hein, Redlands Daily Facts Chuck Palmer, San Bernardino Sun ABSENT None This meeting of the Redevelopment Agency was Acquisition called for this time for the purpose of con- of Property sidering the acquisition of property located South of between Fourth and Eureka Streets on the south Citrus Avenue side of Citrus Avenue, which is recommended for public parking and widening of Citrus Avenue. Redevelopment Director Merritt explained that the three privately owned parcels together with two public parking lots represent one-half city block, which will be needed for additional parking and to eliminate the bottleneck at Citrus at its intersection with Eureka Street. Mr. Merritt explained that the property purchase can be financed through incremental increases of property taxes in the Redevelopment Area, through Parking Authority Bond financing - if applicable, and the portion required by the widening of Citrus Avenue can be financed by Gas Tax funds . The Agency considered the matter at length and spoke with property owners present in the Chambers . Authorization for appraisal of the properties was unanimously given on motion of Dr. Miller, seconded by Mr. DeMirjyn. Chairman 4 Cummings encouraged property owners to also obtain private appraisal in order to have a go comparison value to consider in relation to 110 the City's offer, in order to expedite this negotiation. City Attorney Taylor presented Resolutions of Intention to Condemn subject properties consistent with the previous action by the Agency with respect to the fifteen-acre Central Business District development. These are Resolutions No. 125, 126 and 127, and describe each indivi- dual property. Following discussion, unanimous approval was Resolution given by the Redevelopment Agency to the adoption Nos . 125, of Resolutions No. 125, 126 and 127, on motion 126 and 127 of Dr. Miller, seconded by Mr. Sewall . The Agency members then concurred in the author- ization to the staff to negotiate with the property owners at fair market value. Redevelopment Director Merritt reported briefly on property negotiations in the expanded area, stating that owners and tenants are cooperating, and the entire development is stronger at this time. Mr. DeMirjyn mentioned one property owner on the north side of Redlands Boulevard whose father and attorney have been contacted, but not the son. Redevelopment Director Merritt thanked Mr. DeMirjyn, stating that he would forward the information. Following this , the Redevelopment Agency meeting was adjourned on motion. ATTEST: c1 -gec55 airman of the Redevelopment r Agency Notice is made at this time of the clarification of Paragraph Eight of the Redevelopment Agency minutes of November 20, 1973 in which the recommendation for an agency to handle the property acquisition for the Redevelopment Area was made. 1n the Council minutes of December 4, 1973 this clarification was accepted by the City Council. -0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-
