The minutes of the regular meeting of January 7,
1975 were approved as submitted.
Mr. Merritt read a memo to the Agency members
concerning an article in the FACTS last evening
which evoked concern in some minds that the
owners of the Clem property on West Citrus
Avenue were bringing about a delay in the progress
of the demolition. Mr. Merritt explained that
this was simply a matter of negotiations which
are presently pending until settlement is made
on the other parcels and that the project is not
being obstructed in any way. Chairman Cummings
expressed distress at any embarrassment caused
the Clem family..
Mr. Merritt reported that the redevelopment
project is progressing well.
Mrs . Ruth Patton then read brief excerpts from

the recent Sunset Magazine article titled "How
Did Santa Barbara Get That Way" . Mrs. Patton
stressed that it had taken the continuing
dedicated action of citizens to achieve and
maintain the charm and beauty that is found in
Santa Barbara today.
City Attorney Taylor requested approval for the
policy procedure that the Agency agree to nego-

to facilitate the redevelopment progress. He
also requested approval of an agreement with
the General Gelephone Company to this effect
for the work now being done on Citrus Avenue.
Following brief discussion, on motion of Member
Miller, seconded by Member DeMirjyn, approval
of this procedural policy, and of the specific
agreement, dated January 21, 1975, between the
Agreement Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redlands
General and the General Telephone Company received unani-

Company mous approval of the Agency members. Mr. Taylor
added that any costs caused by redevelopment
would fall to the Redevelopment Program.
Chairman Cummings restated the concern of the
Agency to Miss Clem who entered the chambers
at this time, and again expressed appreciation
of the cooperation of the Clem family.
There being no further business, the Redevelop-
ment Agency adjourned, on motion.
Next regular meeting February 4, 1975.
