Cummings, Chairman The minutes of the regular meeting of February 18, 1975 were approved as submitted. The following bids for the construction of Eureka Street, Third Street, and Parking Lets between Redlands Boulevard and Southern Pacific Right-of-Way were publicly opened and declared at 10 :00 A.M. this date: A-J Construction Company San Bernardino, CA Total Bid $37, 528.50 C. Yeager Construc- tion Company Riverside, CA `dotal Bial $33, 625.00 �v It is the recommendation of the Department of �d Public Works that award be made to the Kruger- McGrew Construction Company, San Bernardino, California, as the lowest and fully qualified bid. Mr. Merritt reminded the Agency that this firm was doing the construction of the Bank of America and had recently done work for the City of Fern Avenue. On motion of Mr. DeMirjyn, seconded by Mrs. Grace, the award was given to the Kruger- McGrew Construction Company in the amount of $30, 994.50 by AYE votes of all present. Mr. Merritt described the area to be included in Phase III Demolition as that bounded by Orange, State, and Fourth Streets and Citrus Avenue, and requested authorization to call for bids. He explained that although there are now tenants in Bid Call the area, effort will be made to time the bid call in such a way that the entire area may be com- WIF pleted at one time. Following discussion, on motion of Mrs. Grace, seconded by Mr. DeMirjyn, the City Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids for the demolition of Phase III Redevelop- ment Area. Mr. Knudsen reported briefly on a Seminar on Redevelopment at the University of California at Irvine. He stated that it was an excellent conference and offered his notes and material to those interested. Mr. Poer stated that in different locations throughout the state "blighted area" was des- Blighted cribed in various terms as an area needing Area assistance. He requested a study of this matter for a determination for the future. Following brief discussion, the Agency members concurred N in the request to the City Attorney for such a report at the next Agency meeting. ,r 'There being no further business, the Redevelop- ment Agency adjourned, on motion.
