It is the recommendation of the Department of
d Public Works that award be made to the Kruger-
McGrew Construction Company, San Bernardino,
California, as the lowest and fully qualified bid.
Mr. Merritt reminded the Agency that this firm
was doing the construction of the Bank of America
and had recently done work for the City of Fern
Avenue. On motion of Mr. DeMirjyn, seconded by
Mrs. Grace, the award was given to the Kruger-
McGrew Construction Company in the amount of
$30, 994.50 by AYE votes of all present.
Mr. Merritt described the area to be included in
Phase III Demolition as that bounded by Orange,
State, and Fourth Streets and Citrus Avenue, and
requested authorization to call for bids. He
explained that although there are now tenants in
Bid Call the area, effort will be made to time the bid call
in such a way that the entire area may be com-
WIF pleted at one time. Following discussion, on
motion of Mrs. Grace, seconded by Mr. DeMirjyn,
the City Clerk was authorized to advertise for
bids for the demolition of Phase III Redevelop-
ment Area.
Mr. Knudsen reported briefly on a Seminar on
Redevelopment at the University of California
at Irvine. He stated that it was an excellent
conference and offered his notes and material to
those interested.
Mr. Poer stated that in different locations
throughout the state "blighted area" was des-
Blighted cribed in various terms as an area needing
Area assistance. He requested a study of this matter
for a determination for the future. Following
brief discussion, the Agency members concurred
N in the request to the City Attorney for such a
report at the next Agency meeting.
,r 'There being no further business, the Redevelop-
ment Agency adjourned, on motion.
Next regular meeting, March 18, 1975.
