Mr. Merritt presented two grant deeds, from the Bank of America National Trust and Savings Association and V. M. Wilson as Trustees for the NI a Estate of Henry J. Wilson to the Redevelopment r Agency, and from the Bank of America National Trust and Savings, Association, Ora P. Wilson, Grant Deeds and William H. Wilson, as Trustees for the Bof A and Estate of Alexander R. Wilson to the Redevelop- Wilson me t Agency. These grant deeds were unanimously accepted on motion of Member DeMirjyn, seconded by Member Miller, with authorization of certi- ficates of acceptance. Mr. Richard Jones addressed the Agency to bring an updated report of development progress. He stated that some critical problems have arisen and been resolved, that the decline in finan- cial market for investments has put his firm in a position where the cost is almost double the expected investment to complete the develop- ment. He added that the success of the Redlands development is important to him, to the city, and to the industry as a whole, as this is a new type of development which has not been done before. Mr. Jones then described the Ernest H. Hahn Corporation which develops and manages shopping centers across the nation, and which is one of the ten largest shopping center developers in E. H. Hahn the United States; he explained that the Hahn Corp. to firm is willing to joint venture with him for Joint- the completion of the Redlands Mall. Together Venture they have established a sales campaign to com- plete the project and to make it a success and a show place. Mr. Jones stated that they have revised the opening date; it is now set for spring of 1977 - this will be a better time for leasing shops, and will allow more time for IN I T, completion of the Harris building. � ry Mr. Janes introduced Mr. Maynard Rice, Senior Project Engineer, who will be coordinator for r the Hahn group. Mr. Rice has been connected with both the development and construction, and has been assigned to see that this project is completed. Mr. Rice listed some of the projects developed and managed by the Hahn company, which include the Tyler Mall, Montclair Plaza, and management of the West Covina project. He added that he has a personal pleasure working here as he is a native of Loma Linda. In answer to Chairman Cummings ' questions, Mr. Jones explained that refinements are being made to the interior only, mainly in five control and air conditioning, and that there were no exterior changes. He added that the parking structure appearance will be improved on the rear. He stated that at least 20% of the space is committed in the mall and assured Mr. DeMirjyn that local merchants have been given an oppor- tunity to move to the mall. Chairman Cummings expressed pleasure in the presentation and welcomed the Hahn organization. The Agency members briefly discussed the demolition schedule in connection with the Bank of America and Town Square buildings. There being no further business, the Agency adjourned at 4.20 P.M.
