Mi ,ler, Member The minutes of the regular meeting of the Redevelopment Agency of December 20, 1977 were approved as submitted. Redevelopment Director Mitchell presented a request from the Department of Public Works for authorization to adver- �3- Bid Call tise for bid for the Mini-Park at the corner of State and v Mini-Park Fifth Streets. The design for this park has been developed by Leon Ar antrout. On motion of Member Grace, seconded by Member Elliott, authorization to advertise for bids was given by AYE votes of all present. Redevelopment Director Mitchell stated that he had drawn up a list of factors concerning the development of down- town Redlands. This sheet contains recommendations of Simon Eisner and his group, the Chamber and B. I.D. Mr. East Mitchell elaborated on the contents of his paper; Mrs . Core Funding Grace expressed concerns about the need for parking for both retail business and employees. Mr. Elliott expressed concerns about existing and future traffic problems . Mr . Mitchell reminded the members of the limitation of funds, stating that $125, 000 of the $650.000 allotted for the East Core Development would be extended on the Mini-Park. Acting Chairman Knudsen referred to the offer by the Chamber of Commerce to spearhead this program and thanked Mr. Nevin Limburg of the Chamber who spoke briefly for the offer of assistance. Mr. Limburg named the chairmen of the committees and assured Council that his people would make every effort to develop blocks of cooperation for improvement, refurbishment and betterment of the downtown area. Redevelopment Director Mitchell reported that the bond refunding data is being assembled and that a report is expected from the attorneys early in February.
