ASSENT None A 0,148 Minutes of the special joint meeting with the City Council of October 13, 1983, and the regular meeting of October 18, 1983, were approved as submitted. The Southern Pacific Transportation Company ceased service into Redlands about September 1, 1983, due to the condition of their track. Officials for the Abandonment railroad now indicate they are studying the possibility Southern of abandonment of the rail line, Because Southern Pacific Pacific service to La-Z-Boy and McEwen' s is essential Railroad to these two business, Member Johnson moved to send a letter to Southern Pacific objecting to the abandonment of the rail service into Redlands. Motion seconded. by Member Gorman and carried unanimously. Referring to the presentation at the last meeting from the Arroyo Group, Member Gorman said we must take overt action to move on the drainage facility and placement of the underground utilities so that they will be compatible with the entire project. Member Johnson agreed and stated the first priority was the flood control channel. There being no further business, the Redevelopment Agency meeting recessed at 4: 10 p.m. to a closed session for the purpose of discussing items covered under the ell attorney/client privilege.
