PRESENT Carole Beswick, Chairman Tim Johnson, Vice Chairman Charles G. DeMirjyn, Member Richard N. Larsen, Member Derrill Quaschnick, Director Lorrie Poyzer, Secretary Laura Wingard, Redlands Daily Facts Pat Brown, The Sun ABSENT Oddie J. Martinez , Jr. , Member Chairman Beswick called the adjourned regular meeting of the Redevelopment Agency to order at 6: 10 P.M. Director Quaschnick noted several letters and petitions containing approximately 105 signatures had been received requesting that the Indian Laurel trees on State Street not be removed. The Redlands Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors requested additional time for input or, if a decision must be made at 1100 this meeting, that Scheme 1 be adopted with City qW maintenance of existing trees rather than forming a special maintenance district. A poll was conducted by the Business Improvement District and approximately 66 responses were received; 29 favored Scheme 1 and 29 favored Scheme 2. Landscape Architect Gary Poling reviewed a brief written analysis of the issues relative to the retention/replacement of the Indian Laurel trees on State Street which included an estimate of probable costs to retain and prune the existing trees, and to remove the existing trees and maintain replacement trees. Mr. Johnson moved to not remove any of the Indian State Laurel trees (Scheme 1) and to authorize the Street Redevelopment Agency Director to solicit bids for Concept the necessary pruning. Motion seconded by Mr. DeMirjyn and carried by AYE votes of all present. Director Quaschnick initiated a discussion regarding the time schedule and a possible revision to make Time it more flexible. It was a consensus of the Agency Schedule Board that a more leisurely pace for review was desirable with time allowed for community input. NAME This would mean the actual work would start after r-141'1-1111 the Christmas shopping season. rp-JAe-d-&-, U1, Returning to the issue of the Indian Laurel trees Indian and following further discussion, Mr. Larsen moved Laurel to authorize the top pruning of the trees in the Trees downtown area as soon as possible. Motion seconded by Mr. Johnson and carried by AYE votes of all present. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6 :50 P.M. Next regular meeting, June 5, 1984 .
