Holmes, Executive Director Derrill Quaschnick, Director Michael Riddell, Agency Attorney Lorrie Poyzer, Secretary Laura Wingard, Redlands Daily Facts Pat Brown, The Sun ABSENT None Minutes of the regular meeting of the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redlands of June 5, 1984 , were approved as submitted. Director Quaschnick presented a revised schedule for the construction of Phase I Improvements which postpones construction to February 1 . This revised schedule allows more time for a demonstration or Revised display of sample street furniture and more time Phase I for community review and comment. Mr. Quaschnick Schedule said the Redevelopment Advisory Commission has reviewed this revised schedule and had no Droblem All with it. Mr. Johnson moved to adopt the revised 0 schedule dated June 5, 1984. Motion seconded by Mr. Martinez and carried unanimously. Director Quaschnick summarized the Commercial Facade Improvement Program which offers two types of assistance. The first being a preliminary facade design at the Agency' s expense and the second a grant for 25 percent of the improvement costs that are done in accordance with approved Commercial designs. Agency approval of each grant will be Facade required prior to construction and grant funds Improvement will not be delivered until the work is satisfactorily Program completed. Both property owners and tenants are eligible, and it will be the responsibility of the applicant to arrange financing. The program will expire at the end of the Agency' s next fiscal year, September 30 , 1985. Before taking action on the Commercial Facade Improvement Program, Phyllis Eldridge, 441 Via Vista Drive, addressed the Agency. Mrs. Eldridge expressed her great concern for the downtown stating that Redlands will never have a major department store, that the village concept is the way to go, and that the Chamber of Commerce should assist with working with merchants to provide quality merchandise. Mrs. Beswick expressed appreciation for her interest and concern and invited her to attend the Redevelopment Advisory Commission meetings. On motion of Mr. Martinez, seconded by Mr. DeMirjyn, INE the Agency Board unanimously approved the Commercial Facade Improvement Program as presented. There being no further business, the Redevelopment Agency meeting adjourned at 3: 32 P.M. to a closed session for the purpose of discussing matters covered under attorney/client privilege.
