Hotel Presentation - Mr. Harrison introduced William Swank, Sr., SDC, LLC, a
hotel developer, and David Wilensky, Regional Director of Franchise Sales and
Development for Six Continents who presented information about a prototype
Holiday Inn they are considering for downtown Redlands. The hotel would be
six stories high and have 143 rooms, an indoor pool, restaurant, small bar and
a meeting room for 150 people. They indicated they would be delighted to
participate with the City in conserving precious land for parking and would be
willing to design the hotel with a "Redlands look and feel." Board members

PUBLIC COMMENTS
RHS and REV School Dance - Carolyn Kim, Redlands High School Social
Committee and a Civics Day participant, announced the first combined event of
the Redlands High School and Redlands East Valley High School is a joint
winter dance scheduled to be held on February 21, 2003, in the Mitten Building.
The Centennial Plaza locks their parking lot in the early evening hours, and Ms.
Kim asked if the City could request the owners to extend their hours to
accommodate the students attending this dance. Community Development
Director Shaw noted the public spaces are required to be available on a 24
hour basis, and he would approach the owners and ask for their cooperation.
Ms. Kim thanked Board Members and staff for their assistance and concluded
her presentation by encouraging the students to attend this event.
