Avenue amount of $21 , 652 was tabled for further study by the Departmt

Roof Public Works. At this time, it is the recommendation of Watex
intendent Lowry that this bid meets the requirements of the CJ

he recommends its acceptance. On motion of Councilman Hartzel
seconded by Councilman Wagner, the above recommendation was al

PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS
As considered by the City Council at a regular meeting thereof
October 5 , 1965 , at 3 :00 P.M.
Present ; Councilmen Martinez , Wagner, Hartzell , Cummings , Mai

1 . Conditional Use Permit No. 101 - E. J. Zeiner
That the request of E. J. Zeiner for a C.U. P. to develop fift)
eight mobile home sites on approximately six acres of propert)
located on .the southeast corner of Judson Street and Sylvan
Boulevard as an annex to Sylvan Mobile Homes be approved for
the reasons outlined by the Planning Director in the minutes
the Planning Commission, dated September 28, 1965, subject to
the requirements of all departments as outlined in. those min-
utes and provided that the flood control prpblems can be re-
solved to the satisfaction Of the Department of Public Works.
Before Council consideration of the Planning Commission recom-
mendation on this permit, Mayor Burroughs introduced Mr. W. A.
SIdler of the County Flood Control District , who described tht
studies being made by the District on the Zanja area dnd the
Redlands Boulevard channel.
Mr. Sidler believes the District will be able to make a deter-
mination concerning the future Zanja channel within about two
weeks ; he also offered to discuss informally with the Public
Works Department the present existing Zanja problems . Attorn(
Cranmer and Mr. Zeiner discussed the present drainage situatf(
Following lengthy consideration, on motion of Councilman Cum-
mings , seconded by Councilman Hartzell, this application was
tabled for two weeks.
2 . Street Vacation No . 47 - High Avenue - Byrd and Tovar
That the request of E. M. Byrd and Antonio Tovar for the vaca-
tion by the City of a portion of High Avenue from Third Street
east to the alley be approved , subject to all requirements of
all departments as contained in Planning Commission minutes ,
dated September 28, 1965. On motion of Councilman Hartzell ,
seconded by Councilman Cummings , this recommendation was adopt
by the City Council and Resolution No. 2483, a resolution de-
claring intention to vacate a portion of High Avenue, was pre.
sented and adopted, with public hearing thereon set for Novem-
ber 2 , 1965 -
3 . Lot Split No . 355 - Estate of Chloe Horton - Final Approval
All provisions as contained in Council minutes, dated March 1 (
1965, having been complied with, it is the recommendation of I
Planning Department that final approval be given for Lot Split
No. 355. On motion of Councilman Wagner, seconded by Councili
Cummings, this recommendation of the Planning Department was

?st re Dr. Riday had already been contacted regarding the limitations of

-mit this Home Occupation Permit . The Planning Department will contact
Dr. Riday and ascertain whether his use does comply with the require-
ments of the ordinance .
Councilman Hartzell announced that the San Bernardino Chamber of Com-
merce will invite every mayor and councilman in the County to lunch
during the first week of November to discuss a new City-County sales
tax formula and a more efficient use of City-County services .
SHED BUSINESS
City Manager Merritt reported that, of further study of the office
space requirements in City Hall, it was decided to offer space to
Space "Operations Contact " in the old police building -- the offices of

put in order and "Operations Contact" will move in on a month-to-
month basis until a more permanent location can be found.

City Manager Merritt requested authorization to call for bids on 9

Martinez , the City Clerk was authorized to call for bids as outlined.
City Manager Merritt presented the recommendation from Police Chief
Stanley Bowen that the City purchase the six emergency police vehicles
Aon needed for the fiscal year 1965-66 by using the State Contract under

above recommendation was approved and Resolution No. 2482, a resolu-
tion of the City of Redlands authorizing this purchase through the
State , was adopted by the City Council.
