At this time, it is the recommendation of the Depart- ment that the low qualified bid of the C. L. Brooks Construction Company in the amount of $14, 382.80 be accepted. On motion of Councilman Mar- tinez, seconded by Councilman Hartzell, this recommendation was adopted by the City Council. Following a presen- tation by Mr. Robert Wagner and Clare Day and Council. discussion, on motion of Councilman .Martinez, seconded by Councilman Cummings the starting time for Conditional Use Permit No. 106 was est.ablis as September 28, 1965 . of 402 palm trees and 925 oleanders, and of 106 oleanders on Parkford Drive is now completed. These plants were grown in the nursery by the City Park Department staff at a great saving in Cast. Mr„ Cummings cormnended lark Superintendent Dawson and his staff on this work of city,, beautification and stated that he had received many favorable co-mi encs already. Councilman Cummings presented Resolution No. 233, a resolution of the tion City Council of the City of Redlands concerning fees for use of the 533 Redlands Bowl . Mayor Burroughs read a letter from the Southern California Association of Governments concerning the City' s application for a federal grant for the Prospect Park. project. This application has been delayed, but it: is anticipated that it will be approved by August 8, 1966 .. HED BUSINESS City Manager Merritt reported on the cost of reproduction of a Soiwl. 1 analysis Study. He stated that this could be done by staff personnel cis with a small expenditure for printing color plates „ This analysis will dy be made available to City firms interested in such a study. The budget of the Smiley Library was presented for tentative approval . et This approval was given on motion of Councilman Hartsell , seconded by ary Councilman Martinez.
