Hardyman of the State Street Christian Church. on motion of Councilman Hartzell, seconded by Councilman DeMirjyn, the minutes of the meeting of ,December 6, 1966 were approved with the addition, as requested by Mr„ Parker, of the following paragraph inserted before the motion in Planning Agenda. Item No. 1..: "After Mr. Parker' s arrival at the meeting, Mr. Deshler stated that there is no current employee parking problem, it having been alleviated by the owners during the first three weeks of operation in 1963. His only concern was for sometime in the future, when the property might change hands . " Council discussed the present lack of landscaping on the freeway entrances into Redlands - the areas of Ford to Highland Avenues and ?way Tennessee to Colton. It was pointed out that the State has requested ping that :tree water be made available for such landscaping purposes. Park, Superintendent Dawson was requested to contact the State De- partment of Highways to ascertain their requirements, and to bring recommendation to Council_ C CAT I ONS Mayor Burroughs read Season ' s Greetings from several neighboring cities and from Redlands ' Sister City, Hine. Resolution No. 2579, a resolution of the City of Redlands providing elution for enforcement by the City Building and Safety Departm int of Rales 2579 and Regulations applicable to Construction, Maintenance, Use and occupancy of Apartments, hotels and Dwellings within the City, adopted on motion of Councilman Cummings, seconded by Councilman Hartzell. Manager Merritt presented a comparison in sales tax increase, July 1, 1.962 to July 1, 1966, of Redlands with nearby cities . Also presented was a review of the dousing Vacancy factor in Redlands from April 1, 1960 to October 1, 1966 with the conclusion that the present vacancy factor of 6. 7% is the lowest unit vacancy in the past six years. Mr. Merritt announced with regret the resignation of James MacKenzie as Assistant Park Superintendent.
