DeMirjyn, Councilman This adjourned meeting was scheduled for this time and place at the adjourned regular meeting of January 23, 1967, for the purpose of receiving a report from Water Superintendent Lowry relative to the proposed spin-off of land assets from the Bear Valley Mutual Water Company. Mr. Lowry read a comprehensive report (on file in the office of the City Clerk) explaining the proposal and describing the possible result- ing cost to be ultimately borne by the water users of the City. Mr. Lowry stated that the spin-off is not in the best interest of the City and recommended as follows: 1. The city vote its stock ownership to oppose any stock split action. 2. In the event the Bear Valley stock split action is taken, the City withdraw Bear Valley Water Company stock from the City' s acceptable stock list pending re-evaluation of the stock. Attorney James Edwards spoke in behalf of the directors of the company, outlining their plan and giving reasons for the proposal.
