Awarding the contract for construction of the Mill Creek Water Treatment Plant and contracts for furnishing of and installation of influent and effluent pipe lines . 2. Review and study of the Resolution of Issuance of Water Bonds. City Manager Merritt read the following recommendation from Water Super- intendent Lowry: As a result of -the bids received for the Mill Creek Water Treat- ment Plant and the furnishing and installing of the influent and effluent lines, it is recommended that the following awards be made. 1. Construction of the Mill Creek Water Treatment Plant to Milton Nichols, Jr. , Inc. , DBA Allied Mechanical Contractors, for Award $717, 880.00. This is the lowest bid submitted and meets all Treat- qualifications. .nt 2. Installation only of influent and effluent lines to A and P Lnt Pipeline company, Inc. , for $31,000.00. This is the lowest bid submitted for installation only and meets all qualifica- tions. (The bidders were permitted t,.o qualify their bids as to the type of material to be installed. The A and P Pipeline Company based their bid on the use of cement mortar lined and coated steel pipe only. ) 3 . Furnish and deliver material only for the influent and effluent lines to Smith-Scott Company, Inc. ; for $66, 731. 30. This is the lowest bid submitted for the type of pipe on which the low installer ' s bid is based. City Manager Merritt also read a telegram from the Economic Development Agency approving this recommendation. Following Council discussion and description of the bid proposals by Mr. Lowry, and further clarification from Mr. Raymond Stone of the En- gineering Consultants Neste, Brudin and Stone, on motion of Councilman Cummings, seconded by Councilman Martinez, the above recommendation was adopted by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmen Martinez, Hartzell, Cummings, Mayor Burroughs NOES : None ABSENT: Councilman DeMirjyn resolution will be considered at the meeting of March 7, 1967. City Attorney Edward Taylor presented a Water Sales Agreement be the City of Redlands and San Bernardino County Service Area No. This agreement provides for the sale of water by the City to the Water Sales on a temporary basis . Following Council discussion, on motion o Agreement Councilman Hartzell, seconded by Councilman Martinez, this Water Agreement was approved by the City Council, with the Mayor autho to execute the agreement on behalf of the City. There being no further business to come before the Council at th time, the meeting adjourned, on motion. Next regular meeting, March 7, 1967 .
