March 28, 1967 at 1: 30 P.M.

The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, followed b,
invocation by Mayor Waldo F. Burroughs.
This adjourned regular meeting of the City Council was held for
purpose of permitting senior students of Redlands High School to
legislative and administrative otticers of the City were:
Scott Reynolds, Mayor
Bill Burke, Councilman
Pat Daniel, Councilman
Bob Hauschild, Councilman
Bob Manning, Councilman
Sumner White, City Manager
Mike Reynolds, City Attorney
Susie Phelps, City Clerk
HEARING
This being the time and place set for the public hearing of ordinance
No. 1336, an ordinance of the City of Redlands amending Section 34.00
Home Occupations - Zoning ordinance No. 1000, Mayor Burroughs at this
time declared the meeting open as a public hearing for the purpose of
.nance hearing any protest or comment relative to this ordinance. None being
1.336 forthcoming, the public hearing was declared closed. Following dis-
cussion and explanation by the Planning Director, on motion of Council-
man Cummings, seconded by Councilman Martinez, ordinance No. 1336 was
adopted, with waiver of reading of the ordinance in full, by the fol-
lowing roll call vote:
AYES : Councilman Hartzell, Martinez; Cummings, DeMirjyn, Mayor

'.0 COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS
At a regular meeting of the Traffic Commission held on March 16, 1967,
the following recommendation was submitted to the City Council for
consideration:
Section One: Pursuant to Article 680, Section 680. 2 of the
Redlands Traffic Ordinance:
To establish a 35 mph zone on Cypress Avenue between San
Mateo and Terratina Boulevard.
Section Two: Pursuant to Article 680, Section 680. 2 of the
slution Redlands Traffic ordinance:
2593 To establish a 35 mph zone on Terracina Boulevard between
tffic Cypress Avenue and Fern Avenue.
Section Three: Pursuant to Article 677, Section 677 . 9 (a)
of the Redlands Traffic ordinance:
To establish a two (2) hour parking limit on south side of
Olive Avenue between Nordina and Sonora Streets.
Section Four: Rescind Section one of Resolution #2583 to:
Permit the removal of a "Stop" sign on West State Street at
the intersection of Tennessee Street to stop eastbound
vehicles.
Resolution No. 2593, a resolution of the City of Redlands amending the
Traffic ordinance as above recommended, was presented and adopted on
motion of Councilman Martinez, seconded by Councilman Hartzell.
[ICATIONS
Upon receipt of a letter questioning the possibility of bringing about
removal of unsightly dead orange groves, Council discussed this matter
April 24 to 28, 1967 be designated Redlands Public Schools Week,
requested by the Redlands Masonic Lodge. This was unanimously a
on motion of Councilman Hartzell, seconded by Councilman Martine
NEW BUSINESS
Resolution on motion of Councilman Hartzell, seconded by Councilman Cumming
No. 2594 Resolution No. 2594, a resolution of the City of Redlands suppor
Valley the application of Valley Airways to the Public Utilities Commis
Airways the State of California was unanimously adopted.
By unanimous vote, the Council elected to name the new filter pl
the "Henry Tate Water Treatment Plant" . This was done to honor .
Tate ' s dedicated service, efforts toward the acquiring of this p
site, and the improvement and security of the city water supply,
his thirty-three years as a city employee.
The request of the Sister City Committee for authorization to sp
$150. 00 of money presently in that committee' s budget to assist
interim financial support of the National League of Cities ' Town
filiation Program, was approved on motion of Councilman Martinez
seconded by Councilman Hartzell .
On motion of Councilman Hartzell, seconded by Councilman Martine
City clerk was authorized to advertise for bids for the grading
foundation for the Sunset Drive Reservoir.
Bills and salaries were ordered paid as approved by the Finance
Committee.
Mayor Burroughs thanked the students for their enthusiastic part
pation, and expressed the hope that this experience would lead s
of these young people to take their places in government at some
date.
