Martinez, Councilman The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, followed by the invocation by Reverend Donal Sheahan of Sacred Heart Church. The minutes of the regular meeting of July 5, 1967 were approved as submitted. The bids on the installation of 20-inch pipe line for Sunset Drive Reservoir, originally scheduled for opening at 10:00 A.M. this date, were believed not to have received sufficient advertising . For this reason, bids were not opened. It is the request of the Water Division that this bid call be readvertised with opening scheduled in the office of the City Clerk at 10:00 A.M. on August 1, 1967 . Council concurred in this proposal. TNG COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS Lot S21it No. 370 - John Sessums - Time Extension That a time extension of one year be granted for Lot Split No. 370, from July 18, 1967 to July 18, 1968. on motion of Councilman Hartzell, seconded by Councilman Cummings, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was adopted by the City Council. Mayor Burroughs read a letter from Teledyne thanking the City fo ticipation in the recent ground-breaking ceremonies. Also, a letter from the Masonic Lodge of Redlands expressing sin gratitude for the saving of their Masonic Temple in the recent d trous fire, and praising all municipal employees . UNFINISHED BUSINESS City Manager Merritt requested Council adoption of the following relating to the proposed San Bernardino-Redlands Airport: "I . That the City of Redlands, subject to the conditions herein stated, intends to give its consent to the annexation by Sa Bernardino of the real property situate in the County of Sa Bernardino, State of California described as follows : "Commencing at the north end of Nevada Street at the Sant Ana River, the boundary line between the proposed City o Bernardino annexation and the City of Redlands would pro south on Nevada to olive Avenue, west on olive to Califo south on California to San Bernardino Avenue, west on Sa Bernardino Avenue to Bryn Mawr, north on Bryn Mawr to Gu west to the east boundary of the land presently owned by Joint Edison Company for expansion purposes. The Southern California Edison Company has annexed the steam plant, located at the corner of Mountain View Ave San Bernardino Avenue, to the City of Redlands after a request from both cities for such annexation and their s of such annexation before the LAFCO. The motion carried with the followinq roll call vote: AYES : Councilmen Hartzell, Cummings, DeMirjyn, Mayor Burroughs NOES : None ABSENT: Councilman Martinez Coming under discussion in connection with the above, was San Bernardino 's proposal that surrounding communities share a portion of and the tax revenue from the Inland Center . After consideration, Council ter requested that Mayor Burroughs convey a summary of the discussion to Mayor Ballard and ask his clarification. On motion of Councilman Hartzell, seconded by Councilman Cummings, the son City staff was requested to prepare and have ready the necessary data perty to facilitate the application to LAFC for possible annexation of the Edison property. Manager Merritt read a suggested communication outlining the City' s position relative to the resubmission of a request to the County by Eltinge and Graziadio for Commercial Zoning on property located at the southwest corner of Redlands Boulevard and Alabama Street. After re- viewing this matter, Councilman Cummings moved that the Manager and ing staff be instructed to take appropriate action, that Council go on my record as approving the material as submitted, and that a letter over the Mayor ' s signature be forwarded to the County Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors. Motion seconded by Councilman Hartzell and carried, with the following roll call vote: AYES : Councilmen Hartzell, Cummings, Mayor Burroughs NOES : Councilman DeMirjyn ABSENT: Councilman Martinez Mayor Burroughs brought to Council attention a complaint from residentr- turbing adjacent to Sage' s Market that noise disturbed them between the hours wise of 10:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. The City Manager and Planning Director were requested to investigate the matter. 4ANAGER The City Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids for a rotary Call drilled well in San Timoteo Canyon on motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, W%A.LL-k--Lc;t Deed parcel at Redlands Airport was accepted on motion of Councilman Airport DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman Hartzell, with the City Manager ized to execute the certificate of acceptance in behalf of the C Bills and salaries were ordered paid as approved by the Finance mittee.
