The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, followed b�

The minutes of the regular meeting of August 15 and the special a
ing of August 25, 1967 were approved with the correction on page
line 8 of the minutes of August 15 to read "Real Property TransfE
BIDS On August 15, 1967 bids were opened in the office of the City ClE
a rotary drilled well from the following companies:
Midway Drilling and Pump Company
Saticoy, California $14, 150.00
Rotary Roscoe Moss Company
Los Angeles, California $17jI99.70
Drilled At this time it is the recommendation of the Department of Public
Well that the bid be awarded to the Midway Drilling and Pump Company,
lower bid meeting all requirements . On motion of Councilman Cumin
seconded by Councilman DeMirjyn, the bid of the Midway Drilling C
in the amount of $14, 150.00, was accepted by the Council, conting
upon concurrence of the San Bernardino County Flood Control Distr
PLANNING RECOMMENDATIONS
Manager Merritt announced the postponement of Council considerati
Sign Ordinance No. 1342 - the Redlands Sign Code - to September 19, T
Ordinance Chamber of Commerce will hold a study session on the ordinance at
Lot Split x#363 - A.M. Taylor -- Final Approval
All provisions as contained in Council, minutes dated September 7,- 1965
having been complied with, it is the recommendation of the Planning De-
partment that final approval be given for Lot Split #363 . On motion of
Councilman Hartzell, seconded by Councilman Cummings, the recommendation
of the Planning Department was adopted by the City Council .
C COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS
At a regular meeting of the Traffic Commission held on August 17 , 1967
the following recommendation was submitted for Council approval:
Section One: Pursuant to Article 677, Sections 677 . 1 and 677 .9 of
the Redlands Ordinance Code, Parking:
To amend Resolution No. 943 - Section Two of the City of Redlands

On motion of Councilman Hartzell, seconded by Councilman DeMirjyn, this
recommendation was approved, and Resolution No. 2621 establishing this
change was adopted by the City Council.
ICATIONS
Mayor Burroughs read a letter from the President of the California Road-
side Council commending the City on the excellent work in the revisions
of the sign ordinance, and requesting a copy of the ordinance when
enacted.
Manager Merritt brought notice to the Council of the award of $6, 500 in
matching funds made to the City for airport assistance from the
California State Aeronautics Division.
Manager Merritt also brought notice from the Department of Alcoholic
Beverage Control of a transfer of license for on-sale beer and wine at
,1570 North. Orange Street. This license is correct by zone,

Authorization for refund of the $600 fee for two months ' "going-out-of-
business sale" of Louise 's Dress Shop was approved on motion of Council-
man DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman Hartzell.
Resolution No. 2622, a resolution of the City Council urging early con-

Manager Merritt reported on a study of the maintenance of quiet as re-
quired by ordinance between the hours of 10:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. adja-
cent to the Sage' s store. The Sage schedule of deliveries, sweeping,
etc . , was described, and it is believed that any noises in this area
are made by firms other than Sage ' s . Other businesses have been noti-

A grant deed to the City from Teofilo and Georgia M. Saldana, as

Councilman DeMirjyn brought to Council attention 11 the fact that SE
is Constitution Observance Month, and September 17 is the annivex
of the ratification of the Constitution, and also brought a reqUE
the Free and Accepted Order of Masons that Council make a minute
calling attention to this fact. The Council noted this observanc
commended the Lodge on this program, on motion of Councilman Hart
seconded by Councilman Cummings .
Bills and salaries were ordered paid as approved by the Finance C
mittee.
No further business demanding attention at this time, on motion,
Council adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
