This adjourned regular meeting of the City Council was called to con.-
Lnance s.ider ordinance No. 1357, an ordinance :increasing the transient occupan
135 cy tax from 4 to 5%. Following discussion, on motion of Councilman
'asient Martinez, seconded by Councilman Hartzell, Ordinance No. 1.357, an ordi-
ipancy nance of the City of Redlands amending Chapter 26 of the Ordinance Cools
relating to transient occupancy tax, was adopted, with waiver of the
reading in full, by the following roll. call vote:
AYES - Councilmen Martinez, Hartzell , Mayor Burroughs
NOES : None
ABSENT: Councilmen Cummings, DeMirjyn
Also for consideration at this time is as new agreement between the City ='
of Redlands and the Redlands Unified School, District. Manager Merritt
dement
explained the agreement and pointed out the differences between this
--eat on new agreement and the agreement under which the Recreation Commission
iissaon had been operating, which were, in effect, a change in the life of the
agreement from three years to ten years, a change in the Education Code
numbers which relate to a Recreation Commission, and inclusion, tinder
General Objectives, paragraph (e) , the authority to acquire acid to es-
tablish .recreation centers or facilities as may be used for community
recreation. On motion of Councilman Ila.rtzel_l, seconded by Councilman
Martinez, this new agreement was approved by the City Coa;inc 1, with the ,
Mayor authorized to sign.
