The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, followed by
invocation given by Reverend Henry W. Keane of the Sacred Heart C
The minutes of the regular meeting of February 20, 1968 were appr
corrected, and the minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of Fe

Mrs. Miriam Hawthorne introduced members of Girl Scout Troop 297
Redlands Junior High Schools.
Mrs . Hawthorne also invited the Council to a public meeting being

PUBLIC HEARINGS

No. 1359, Zone Change No. 96, which proposes a change of zone from A-1
(Agriculture) District, to R-E (Residential Estate R-1-14,000) District
for approximately 12 acres of land located at the southeast corner of

PETITIONS
Mr. Donald McCready, of 392 Los Robles Crest, made a presentation to
Council concerning zoning laws, particularly commenting on the recent
denial of a conditional use permit for a tower in an agricultural zone
in North Redlands, with a specific recommendation that Section 52 of
Cready the ordinances on conditional use permits be amended by adding the

tion would be given to the Planning Commission for study.
Councilman Cummings stated that the quote attributed to him by Mr.

On motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman Cummings, this
proposal of Mr. Donald McCready was referred to the Planning Commission
for study.
ING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS
1. Tentative Map - Tract No. 7902 - Red Knoll Ranch
Tentative approval of this tract, which had been unanimously recommended
to Council for approval by the Planning Commission, subject to all
departmental requirements as outlined in Planning Commission minutes
dated February 13, 1968, was tabled on February 20, 1968 to await
results of the adoption of Ordinance No. 1359, on advice of the City
Attorney.
Mayor Burroughs read a letter from Mr. Chris M. McCririe concerning an
access problem on Mr. Mccririe ' s property which has developed as a
result of this proposed subdivision. The property in Tract No. 7902
was sold by Mr. McCririe.

PARK COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS
Councilman Cummings stated that there was no recommendation from
Park Commission, that the Commission would meet this coming Thursl
March 7, to consider the Park budget.
Councilman Hartzell commented on the results of the recent tree p.
program on Alvarado Street and commended the Park Department for -

At the regular meeting of the Traffic Commission held February 29
the following recommendations were submitted to the City Council
consideration:

Mr. Wagner read a letter from the Tourist Promotion Board of the Cham-
tuber ber of Commerce requesting that the City budget $1, 000 to help defray
