The minutes of the adjourned regular meetings of October 22 and October 30, 1968 were approved as submitted. Ordinance No. 1379, an ordinance amending the sign code, Ordinance No. iance 1342 of the City of Redlands, was considered by Council at this time. 1379 Following discussion and the answering of questions by Director of ;ns Building and Safety Mitchell, ordinance No. 1379 was unanimously adopted by the Council, with waiver of reading in full, on motion of Councilman Knudsen, seconded by Councilman DeMirjyn, Councilman Martinez leaves the Council Chambers at 7: 20 P.M. HEARINGS This being the time and place advertised for public hearing on ordinance iance No. 1377, an ordinance of the City of Redlands approving Zone Change No. 1377 107, Mayor Burroughs at this time declared the meeting open as a public -iange hearing of any protest or comment relative to the ordinance. None being forthcoming, the public hearing was declared closed and ordinance No. 1377 was adopted on motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Council- man Knudsen, with waiver of the reading in full, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmen Cummings, DeMirjyn, Knudsen, mayor Burroughs NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Martinez .TIONS AND PETITIONS Manager Merritt brought notice of an application for liquor license for on-sale beer and wine at the European Delicatessen at 256 E. Citrus Avenue. IG COMMISSION RECOMMENDATIONS As considered by the City Council at a regular meeting thereof held November 4, 1968 at 3: 00 P.M. Present: Councilmen Martinez, Cummings, DeMirjyn, Knudsen, Mayor Burroughs, City Attorney Taylor R.P.C. No. 304 - Zone Change No. 108 That R.P.C. No. 304, a resolution of the Planning Commission for adop- tion of Zone Change No. 108 - creating a change of zone to "0" Open Land for lands presently being utilized for parks and other public purposes, be approved. on motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman Martinez, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was adopted by the City Council. ordinance No. 1380, an ordinance of the City of Redlands establishing said change of zone, was presented and laid over "Lots 1, 18 and 19 as per study map' to take vehicular access from or 'A' Street. Lot Split No. 394 - Arthur Gregory - Final Approval All provisions as contained in Council minutes dated January 16, 1 having been complied with, it is the recommendation of the Plannir Department that final approval be given for Lot Split No. 394. COMMUNICATIONS Mayor Burroughs announced a dinner of appreciation on November 20, honoring Supervisors Wesley Break and Ross Dana on their retiremen Councilman Cummings commended Chief of Police Graefe and Lt. Olmos their presentation at the University today on narcotics. He also tended the appreciation of the Council to the Police Department fo professional approach in the recent apprehension of dangerous drug Narcotics narcotics peddlers on County Grand Jury warrants . The councilmen Problem expressed regret that there seems so little concern as a result of recent raids, and deplored the fact that the children of the commu were being exposed to narcotics by these individuals, some of whom committing a fourth offense. Councilman DeMirjyn requested information about a well in Yucaipa ' is partially owned by the City. It was pointed out that this ordinance facilitates removal of abandoned vehicles without the pink slips. Councilman DeMirjyn stated that it may be possible to have these removed without expense to the property owner. Approval for the transfer of funds in the amount of $8,500 within the Water Department to facilitate the purchase by the department of ex- cavating equipment consisting of a reconditioned Hopto Backhoe was ap- proved on motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman Cummings . Deed A grant deed to the City of Redlands from Forsberg and Gregory for street erg & right-of-way purposes in connection with Lot Split 394 was approved on ry motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman Cummings , Following explanation by Director of Public Works Shone that it was not possible to obtain the right-of-way on Sunnyside Street from the Sunny- side Inn owners in order to facilitate the street improvement of Sunny- side, this project was ordered cancelled and the funds made available for budgeting to another project, on motion of Councilman Cummings, seconded by Councilman DeMirjyn. Manager Merritt reported that following use of the parking lot for foot- ball games , it is the opinion of the Police Department and the Department of Public Works that the extension of Purdue Street which was originally to planned to assist in the removal of traffic from the stadium parking lot !t was not needed; therefore, it is the recommendation of the Department of Public Works that Purdue Street not be extended as originally planned. on motion of Councilman Cummings, seconded by Councilman DeMirjyn, this decision was approved by the City Council.
