On motion of Councilman Cummings, seconded by Councilman DeMirjyn, a one-year extension was granted this tentative tract map contingent upon removal of dead ox trees within 1201 days . Binder, on thoroughness of his presentation, moved that the Council accept thi report, and requested that the absent Council members be briefed by staff concerning this report. Motion seconded by Councilman DeMirj ccarried. !�011�UNTCATIONS Commerce, a request for financial. assist From the Junior Chamber of Coi Funds sending an official City representative to the forthcoming Miss Ame Miss Pageant in Atlantic City, in order to lend support and encouragemen America Pageant Mi-ss Susan Anton, wl-io as Miss Redlands, and Miss California, will c for the Miss America title. Following discussion of the caliber of pageant and the uniqueness of the situation, Councilman Cummings mo that $400. 00 be authorized for this project . Motion seconded by Cc man DeMirjyn and carried. A request for funds from Chairman S . Wesley Break, of the County Fa mittee, to defray the expense of the opening night program in which Funds Redlands will, be honored at the San Bernardino County Fair in, Victo County Following discussion, Councilman DeMirjyn moved to authorize expend F a,JL r of not more than $350.00 for this ceremony, and requested that an e be made by the committee to obtain a part of the funds from local s clubs . Motion seconded by Councilman Cummings and carried. Manager Merritt announced that the State Division of Highways had a the addition of Pearl Street from orange to Sixth Street to the Cit i Pearl Select System of Streets, and has indicated that the State would cc Street the street at no charge to the City if right-of-way is made availah no cost to the State. :NE'W BUSINESS Resolution No. 2770, a resolution of the City of Redlands fixing th Tax and levying the property tax for the fiscal, year 1969-70, was press Rate and adoptown n motof u ion Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilma Cummings . Councilman DeMirjyn requested a review of the City' s policy requiring provision of water stock by property developers, with a view to the po`a icy sible abolishment of this requirement, and asked that it be presented at the last: meeting in September or the first in October. Councilman DeMirjyn suggested the rewriting of the orange grove abate- ment ordinance to stress the undesirability of dead groves for the reason': that these are "havens for pests .
