Knudsen, Councilman The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, followed by the invocation by Mayor Jack B. Cummings . This adjourned regular meeting of the City Council was held for the purpose of permitting senior students of Redlands High School to take over functions of the various departments of the City government as part of Civic Week. Seated at the Council table to represent the legislative and administrative officers of the City were: Richard Green, Mayor Jim Geissinger, Vice Mayor Rick Creatura, Councilman Mary Ann Garcia, Councilman Gustavo Muscosoo Councilman Peter Eldridge, City Manager Tom Hauser, City Attorney Sandi Hollenberg, City Clerk The minutes of the regular meeting of May 5, 1970 and of the special meeting of May 8, 1970 were approved as submitted. Mayor Cummings welcomed the young people present for Civic Day and con- gratulated them on their election to various governmental offices. He repeated the story that Edward Taylor had been Acting City Attorney in his senior year and had gone on to be Redlands City Attorney in fact. Mr. Cummings extended a special welcome to Gustavo Muscoso, an exchange student from Ecuador, stating that he holds the record of being the first non-citizen councilman. The Treasurer' s department reported that all dogs must be licensE of July 1, 1970; licenses will be available on June 1, and rabies lation clinics will be held on June 17, July 15 and July 29, 1970 A report on Municipal Airport Flood Control stated that the secor phase, being done with State funds, will be complete by June 15, that the third phase, being undertaken with Flood Control Distric funds, will hopefully be completed before any heavy storms . The repair is to cover 27, 050 feet at an estimated cost of $57, 000. CITY MANAGER Bid Call on motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman DeMirjyn, Traffic City Clerk was authorized to call for bids on installation of tra Signals signals at Sixth Street and Redlands Boulevard, with bids to be c on June 2, 1970. A request to authorize bids for construction on New York Street c agenda for this time was tabled to a later date. A Grant Deed to the City from R. H. and M. L.
