Knudsen, Councilman The meeting was opened with the pledge of allegiance, followed b invocation by Mayor Jack B. Cummings . This adjourned regular meeting of the City Council was held for purpose of permitting senior students of Redlands High School to over functions of the various departments of the City government part of Civic Week. Seated at the Council table to represent th lative and administrative officers of the City were: Greg Hardy, Mayor Shyanne Reese, vice Mayor Susie Ohlund, Councilman Larry Deckel, Councilman Dave DeRieux, Councilman Bob Gay, City Manager Don Goble, City Attorney The minutes of the regular meeting of February 16, 1971 were app as submitted. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Resolutions Following explanation by the Police Chief that Ordinance No. 142 No. 2867 & enables the granting of Tow Truck Franchises to qualified applic No. 2868 resolution, on motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilm Tow Truck Sewall, approval was given to Resolution No. 2867, awarding a fr Franchises to Downing Towing Service; and Resolution No. 2868, granting a f to A & H Towing. Sering on the occasion of his 100th birthday. ,NAGER The expenditure of $1, 700 from the Special Aviation Fund Surplus for an art additional 125 feet of security fence, and preparation of the low area adjacent to the west end of the runway to receive fill from the Dearborn excavation, was approved on motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Sewall. -Rate A water-rate increase study was authorized on motion of Councilman DeMirjyn, seconded by Councilman Sewall, with Councilmen Sewall and Knudsen appointed to serve with staff representatives . The request for an outside-city water connection for a six-unit multiple !-City dwelling on Mcntone Boulevard immediately west of Sapphire Street was :ion approved on motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman DeMirjyn. Following the handling of the regular business, Shyanne Reese, Council- man DeMirjyn' s counterpart, moved that at the next two Council meetings the Councilmen leave their shoes outside the door and enter Chambers in stocking feet, to increase cleanliness and lower cleaning expenses. Susie ohlund, Councilman Knudsen' s counterpart, seconded. After con- siderable disagreement, with a protest from Dave DeRieux, the motion carried by the following roll call vote: AXES: Councilmen Reese, ohlund, Mayor Hardy NOES: Councilman DeRieux STAIN: Councilman Deckel The Council adjourned, on motion, at 2: 45 P.M.
