ince the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redlands , and explained that
.533 this was the time for second reading and adoption of this ordinance.
- On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilwoman Grace,
?lop- Ordinance No. 1533 was adopted, with waiver of the reading of the
agency
ordinance in full, by the following roll call vote :
AYES : Councilmembers Miller, DeMirjyn, Knudsen, Grace, Mayor
Cummings
NOES : None
ABSENT: None
Mr. Merritt then described the request by the Jaycees for permission
's to repeat their family-type carnival on May 9 - 12 with waiver of
?ss business license. He added that this had been well handled last year .
;e On motion of Councilman Knudsen, seconded by Councilman Miller , this
request was unanimously approved.
On motion of Councilman Knudsen, seconded by Councilman Miller, the
Jaycees ' request to continue selling trash can liners, as a philan-
thropic project, was also approved with waiver of license, unanimously. 1,
Former Councilman Sam Sewall requested permission for a second Down-
town Merchants Art Festival to be held on May 3rd, and assured Council
that the entryways of business will not be blocked and the participantsi
will park away from the business district. On motion of Councilman
Miller, seconded by Councilwoman Grace, this approval was given
unanimously.
Councilman Knudsen reported that the City of Riverside required
business licneses for architects and engineers who do business in that
city, and inquired whether Redlands required business licenses of this
sort from out-of-town professionals . He added that he thought this
was very unfriendly. The matter will be brought to the attention of
Mr. Poyzer who handles business licenses.
There being no further business , Council adjourned to an adjourned
regular meeting on April 30, 1974 immediately following the Redevelop-
ment Agency meeting scheduled for 2:00 P.M.
